It’s taken me across the globe as an event planner, speaker and educator – helping others to find their passion for creating experiences and events.

Jill S. Moran, CSEP – award-winning event planner, author, speaker, educator, lifestyle expert, and entrepreneur.

Jill is a Certified Special Events Professional and an active member both locally and internationally in the International Special Events Society. She is a past president of ISES New England and has served on various international committees. Her educational initiatives have included speaking engagements at numerous professional conferences, colleges and universities and the development of an online educational program to offer solid training to event professionals worldwide. She has published two books, How to Start a Home-based Event Planning Business and How to Start a Home-based Wedding Planning Business, both of which won ESPRIT awards from the International Special Events Society for “Best Industry Contribution.”

Jill began her career producing international events for exhibit and display clients attending major industry trade shows in 1989. Her company’s business grew to include the not-for-profit and celebratory events in destinations around the world producing corporate events and conferences, galas, weddings, social celebrations and charity events. She has been featured in industry publications as well as television programming. A 20 year veteran of the special events industry, Jill is a four time nominee and a three-time recipient of the event industry ESPRIT award.

In 2010, Jill launched the Special Events Institute to offer the opportunity for novice planners worldwide to gain expert knowledge of event planning from established event professionals. It has been recognized with an Educationally Approved rating from the International Special Events Society as well as Best Industry Contribution

She holds a BS in Education from the University of Connecticut and has completed master level coursework at the University of Connecticut, Babson College, and Arizona State University.

She has been featured in magazines and television as the go to expert. She’s been honored with industry awards as a true leader and innovator.


I thank my Dad for my early business training which allowed me to launch a successful event planning company. I’ve been lucky to have great clients who have allowed me to bring their ideas to life – creating galas, weddings and celebrity events. I think I knew I was born to run a business when I pulled my wagon from door to door selling Popsicle for 4 cents when I was 8!

I realized I needed to stand out from the competition and became a Certified Special Events Professional. I raised my hand to serve as an industry leader of the International Special Events Society and helped shaped how education was delivered to other event professionals.


My passion for doing things better and smarter led me to write two best-selling books – How to Start a Home-based Event Planning Business and How to Start a Home-based Wedding Planning Business, both of which won ESPRIT awards from the International Special Events Society for “Best Industry Contribution.”

It’s great to be recognized by my peers!

I knew there was more that I could do! Why not build a resource for everyone, everywhere? In 2009, I launch Special Events Institute where event enthusiast world-wide can learn from me and other event professional to bring their passion for events alive. It’s a place to go for solid training to build a successful and profitable career.
