Jennifer Fustino – Johnson & Wales University

Jenny is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a Bachelor degree in Sports, Entertainment & Event Management and a concentration in Sales & Meeting Management and a Masters of Business Administration in Global Business Leadership Marketing. She has been volunteering and working in the event industry since 2002 in all facets including: corporate and non-profit events, hotel banquets, private catering and large scale community events. The majority of her professional career has been with Johnson & Wales University in event related positions since 2005. Most recently Jenny is the Director of University Events. Her responsibilities include managing and executing a variety of events supported through the Chancellor’s Office while also developing event standards and best practices and participating in fundraising initiatives and goals. She is constantly seeking ways to improve the University events service model and implementing innovative ideas for special events.

Events in higher education are a passion for Jenny and she annually attends the Academic Event Professional Conference to network and communicate with her peers in higher education events and has participated as a session speaker on alumni events and board meetings. Jenny’s positive relationship with her past instructors at JWU and industry experiences has provided her with the opportunities to speak in the classroom and judge classroom competitions. She enjoys her full-cycle relationship with JWU from student to employee to industry mentor for students. She is an active and committed member of the Rhode Island chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES), serving in a variety of board positions including two terms as the Director of Communications, one term as the Vice President of Communications, President Elect and currently as Chapter President. Jenny has also recently completed serving one term on the International ISES ESPIRT Committee.

Jenny enjoys cooking, gardening, entertaining, warm weather and the beach and spending time with friends and family.
